It was my pleasure to join the good Rotarians from Colombo Club to make an initial assessment of Yatimadura, in the Walapane District. The situation there is desperate with the village almost entirely cut-off due to a largely impassable road. 9km took nearly 2 hours in a 4 Wheel Drive. There is a clear need for good infrastructural development to do with both the road and the water systems, on a longer-term level the educational facilities and provision needs to be augmented and improved.
