THE QUIZ COMPETITION 2013
A JOINT PROEJCT ROTARY & Interact clubs
This is a Vocational service and Youth Services joint project of Rotary club of Colombo, conducted in partnership with the Rotary Club of Colombo East and Rotary Club of Colombo West for the Interact clubs sponsored each club. It was held on the 30th October 2013 at Royal College Skills Centre, Colombo 07 with the presence of more than 28 Rotarians and 105, Interactors from 10 Schools sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Colombo, Colombo East & Colombo West.
Interact Clubs of Royal College, Asian International School and St. Peters College together with the Rotary Clubs of Colombo West, Colombo East & Colombo combined to make it a joint Rotary project. 10 Interact Clubs participated. The Quiz was based on the five categories namely General Knowledge, Sports, Current Affairs, History & Rotary Knowledge and the prizes were handed over to winners of each category.
Each sponsoring Club shared the expenses and each club cost was less than Rs. 20, 000/= included the printing cost for certificates for all participants, and organizing clubs’ presidents. Certificates, the two plaques for the winner and runners up were made available. The refreshments served for all attendees.
The Chief Guest was the District Governor Nominee Jeorge Jesudasan & the guests of honours Rotary District New Generation Chairman, Rtn PP Chrishantha Hearth & Rotary District Vocational Service Chairman, Rtn PP Dr Suresh Britto distributed the awards to the Runners up (Asian International School) & Winning teams (St Peters College). The three Interact Clubs were recognized for their joint effort in organizing this event with Rotary Clubs and Rotary Presidents & their representatives handed over the special certificates to Asian International School (Pres Int Udaara by Rtn Hiranthi Karunathilake( co- chair of RC of Colombo West) representing the President Jerome Rajendram of RC of Colombo West) , Royal College, Int Anuka by Rtn Rohan Karunarathna, the Vice President RC of Colombo & St Peters College, Int Fabian, by Rtn Saifudeen Adamaly, President RC of Colombo East)
