Vocational Meeting
Vocational Meeting was held at the Zelan on 19th August, 2014 headed by Rtn. Andal Radhakrishna the Chairperson.
1 Peace & Conflict
Prevention/Resolution: and Project for Entrepreneur Development:
To identify 10 youth from the north or east and give them
training in aluminum fabrication. The training will be
provided by Lanka Aluminum PLC.
Suggest to work with Rotary club in the north and the East to
identify the youth for training.
Other possible resource people for training in the construction
2 Basic Education & Literacy:
The team members requested for clarification of this citation
criteria so that a suitable vocational service project can be identified.

To identify 1 or 2 private school (s) and look at the possibility
of carrying out career guidance program during school hours
at the school.
3 Economic & Community
Development:.
Tea Leaf Vision center provides Training to young adults
with life skills for suitable employment in Maskeliya.
We could Tie up with Colombo based companies to assist the
students who complete trainings there to obtain suitable
employment. October /November 4 Vocational Service
4. Leadership Award:
To identify a Rotarian from our club or the district, where he/
has used his occupation to make an impact to the community,
demonstrated integrity in his/her profession and has
undertaken at least one of six criteria’s which will be
determined by the committee and set out in the nomination
form.

– October 2014
Vocational Service Award –
a) two Public Officer to be nominated for the award by 15th
b) September.
Speakers for lunch meetings: (1) invite 2 members our club
who has excelled in his/her vocation. (2) invite someone from
the business/ professional community.
Nominees by: 15th
September and
award 1st week of October.
Lunch meetings: October 2014
6 Business Ethics – 4 Way Test.
Publicize the 4 Way
Test through restaurants,
banners on roads etc.
To Publicize the four way test by having banners dispayed
the road. To obtain approval from CMC, identify a day/ week/
area and have these banners displayed
